Conditions treated
The Clinic is mainly a 'musculo-skeletal' physiotherapy
clinic. This means that we treat injury or damage to bones, joints,
ligaments, tendons and muscles. Although we specialise in sports
injury it does not matter how you sustained your injury in the
first place, we deal with all causes of this type on injury. So
if you have a 'whiplash' from a car accident, tore a muscle playing
football or hurt your back gardening we can probably help relieve
your pain and restore your normal function. Physiotherapy can also help with
many arthritic conditions, strengthening the muscles, restoring
range of movement and alleviating the pain.
If you have recently had surgery and need
help with your recovery we will be able to guide your rehabilitation.
So if you have had an injury to your
body, no matter what your age or physical condition we can improve
you and in most cases return you to your normal lifestyle.
Treatments
Traditionally Physiotherapy involves the use
of various physical means to help you get better. No chemicals
or medicines are involved. Massage and various body movements called
manipulation and mobilisation can be used and exercises are also
incorporated to help strengthen and improve the movements of the injured
part. Different forms of electro-therapy such as ultra-sound and
interferential are used to encourage repair to take place. At
this practice acupuncture and relaxation techniques can be included
if required. None of the physio treatments are intended to be painful
and care is taken to explain what you are likely to feel before
treatment commences.
We do not treat neurological, vascular
or women's health conditions at this practice.
You may be accompanied by a friend or family
member but we prefer you not to bring children with you as they
can be distracting and endanger themselves and others.
